Eligibility MBE.png

To be eligible for WBE c​ertification, your business needs to be:​

  • 51% owned, controlled, and actively managed by one or more women.​
  • A sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation, LLC, or joint ventures.
  • Organized in a for profit basis (nonprofit and 501(c)(3) businesses are not eligible for WBE certification).
  • Currently performing a useful business function (i.e. has customers other than the State of Wisconsin).
  • One customer in the State of Wisconsin.
  • No ownership or control changes and formed longer than the year prior to application.
  • If held in trust, you must have a woman or women​ as the owner, beneficiary, and trustee of the trust.
  • If your business is a ​​subsidiary or affiliate, the parent company must be at least 51% owned by a minority owner or owners.

There is a $150 fee for WBE certification applications.
